Behind this blog
About this blog
This blog is about conflicts that seem to be of cultural nature, be it individuals or international crises. It is about power, be it skin colour or political hegemony. And it’s about finding creative and productive ways to deal with the differences we encounter in our every day lives, in our communities, and in politics.
Lofty words aside, a strong focus of this blog is on political and cultural conflict and violence, on communal segregation and fault lines. Accordingly, the second focus of this blog is on mediation and dialogue, and on showing examples of how to deal with these conflicts.
About myself
A post-grad student with a strong interest in social theory, mediation and intercultural communication, I blog here whenever I have the time to post and when I get confronted with something interesting. I mostly post snippets I find somewhere or ideas I want to share (sometimes not entirely thought through).
The language of this blog is English, even though German is my native language. This is because I want put stuff out there for people from diverse backgrounds, and English simply circulates wider than German.
